The song “It may be winter outside but in my heart it’s spring” is exactly how I feel right now. It’s cold here in Australia but I have been using some hot sunless tan products as I desperately miss the beach and my tan for that matter. Todays special post will have quick tips and reviews on some of my favourite SunFX products.
Pre Tan Tips
- All shaving and waxing must be done before using these products.
- Exfoliate your skin to give it a smooth base for your tan.
- Make sure you are not wearing makeup, moisturiser, perfume or deodorant.
Post Tan Tips
- Always apply your tanning products with a mitt, if you don’t have a tanning mitt, quickly wash hands with soap and water immediately after application.
- Wear dark baggy clothing after your tan.
- After washing your body don’t rub your skin with the towel, gently pat it dry.
WhiteOut Spray-On Tan
This instant spray on tan is my favourite quick fix tanning product, it is so easy to apply making it great for beginners. I always read the directions on the back of any product I use and starting with a little patch test is highly recommended incase the skin has a bad reaction. On my skin the tan looks like a naturally healthy sun kissed glow, it absorbs quickly and isn’t sticky, patchy or streaky. The colour lasted 5 days and there were no oompa loompas in sight 🙂

Summers Secret Gradual Tan
This 3 in 1 product builds your tan, extends the longevity and hydrates your skin. The lotion is smooth and thick in consistency it is used to build a natural looking tan over a few days and is also an ideal tan extender, ideal for prolonging a spray tan. I have been applying it straight after I shower to build up a gradual golden glow. It absorbs into my skin really well and makes it feel soft and nourished, the smell reminds me of a Caribbean holiday, sipping Pina Colada’s by the pool.

Tan Extender
Here we have another tropical holiday scented thick white lotion that works to extend the life of your spray tan and eventually helps it fade out evenly. It contains natural extracts of aloe vera, almond oil, olive oil and shea butter which keeps your skin looking luminous and hydrated making it a great everyday moisturiser.

Body Shimmer
Highlighters may be the latest makeup trend but body shimmer will never go out of fashion. I can use this day or night, it has subtle light reflecting particles that look very flattering as they illuminate on the body. It is formulated with shea butter, sweet almond oil and macadamia oil which makes my skin feel soft and hydrated. It quickly absorbs into my skin and spreads smoothly giving it a natural looking shimmer. I love the smell of this lotion, it is another fresh sunshine scented awesomeness in a tube.

Body Polish
This is a winter essential for me, I have been using it in the shower once a week to help replenish and prep my skin to prolong the life of my tan. I gently massage in circular motions on the dry areas of my skin before using any of my self tanning products. It is a light gold colour scrub with ground walnut shells, the rich emollient properties remove the barrier of dead skin cells and encourages proper cellular turn over. It helps maintain a healthy glow and opens the way for all other products to penetrate deeper into the skin.
